Plasma

Plasma is the liquid part of blood, generally yellow in color. It is 92% water, 7% protein and 1% minerals. Plasma is the source of antibodies, albumin and clotting factors. For transfusion, plasma is used to treat clotting disorders, burn victims and shock. When frozen, plasma has a one year shelf life.
