Skin Cancers
- Basal cell: Eligible after removal.
- Melanoma: Not eligible to donate during diagnosis or treatment. Eligible one year following completion of successful treatment.
- Squamous cell: Eligible after removal.
Solid Tumors
- Including breast, colon, lung, liver, pancreas and thyroid
- Not eligible to donate during diagnosis or treatment. Eligible one year following completion of successful treatment.
Cancer In Situ – Any
- Removed: Eligible day after removal.
Blood, Lymphoid, or Bone Marrow Cancers
Patients with a history of leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma or other blood, lymphoid or bone marrow cancer are not eligible to donate blood.
Prostate Cancer
- Not eligible to donate during diagnosis or treatment.
- Eligible one year following completion of successful treatment.
- If monitoring only, with no treatment required, donor is eligible.
