The Spirit of Giving SUV Giveaway

By Carter BloodCare | 48 comments | Blood Drive, Donor Center, Donor Perks, General | 2 December, 2020

Carter BloodCare donors have a chance at a new ride for the new year!

Update: Thank you for your interest, as noted in the dates below the entry time frame ended.

Give blood Dec. 1, 2020 – Jan. 10, 2021 and be thanked like never before. Thanks to the generosity of our community partner, The Thompson Group Classic Chevrolet Fleet and Commercial, every registered blood donor from Dec.1, 2020 – Jan. 10, 2021 will be automatically entered into a random drawing for a brand new 2020 Chevrolet Trax. JUST ADDED: Donors that give Dec.13-Dec.31, 2020 will also receive a special thank-you holiday food voucher (while supplies last).

This year has taught us all the importance of being prepared. Every time you #GiveForLife you help our community stay prepared. Your generous donations help meet the needs of patients facing challenges like cancer, emergency traumas, and surgeries. Your donations also keep our community prepared to address unexpected challenges including disasters caused by violent weather patterns and emerging health crises, like the COVID-19 pandemic.

Schedule your appointment online to give at one of our 25 donor centers or any of our community blood drives. Or make your appointment by calling/texting 800-366-2834.

If my next donation date is shown in the year 5000 for certain types of donations, does it mean I am deferred for that type of donation?

Please call Donor Notification at 817-412-5603 so that we may discuss your specific reason.

Where do you find the COVID antibody results after donating? I see all my other results

    • Carter BloodCare Reply December 16, 2020 at 2:29 pm

t takes 1-2 weeks to get the COVID-19 antibody test results and it’s in your donor portal with the other results (https://ww2.greatpartners.org/donor/auth/signin). It may not be posted at the same time as your other test results.

  • Lisa Efthymiou Reply December 15, 2020 at 12:24 pm

I am concerned about being exposed to Covid while visiting to donate. Others present could be carrying & spreading it. Inside close quarters.

    • Carter BloodCare Reply December 16, 2020 at 1:34 pm

Lisa – all our employees wear masks and we require all donors to do so also. We allow for social distance between all donors and have given our staff additional time between donations for our more advanced cleaning procedures. You can read more about our precautions here: https://www.carterbloodcare.org/covid-19-and-the-blood-supply/

    Nancy Neaves
I donated platelets today and one of the techs took a picture for me to post on Instagram which I did and then I was to go to “https//a.cstmapp.com/promotions/not active/pending/904016 to be eligible to enter a contest for a Playstation 5. That address goes no where – any ideas on this?

    • Carter BloodCare Reply December 30, 2020 at 2:37 am

The address for that promotion is https://a.cstmapp.com/p/904016.

  • Michael Geil Reply December 21, 2020 at 4:18 pm

I last donated on 10/20/2020. When can I donate again?

    • Carter BloodCare Reply December 30, 2020 at 2:35 am

You can donate 56 days after a whole blood donation.

  • Susan H. Reply December 27, 2020 at 6:16 pm

I have donated three times this year. This week will be my fourth. I am O-negative and I feel fine.

    • Carter BloodCare Reply December 30, 2020 at 2:32 am

      We’re so grateful to you!

  • Laura Thompson Reply December 28, 2020 at 3:10 pm

I donated blood Dec 24th. My test results have all but the covid antibody tab. Why is this tab missing in my results? Aren’t all donors tested for antibodies?
    Thanks!

    • Carter BloodCare Reply December 30, 2020 at 2:32 am

It can take 1-2 weeks to get the COVID-19 antibody test results and it’s in your donor portal with the other results (https://ww2.greatpartners.org/donor/auth/signin). It may not be posted at the same time as your other test results and won’t always take a week as sometimes the results come back faster.

I have HSV 1 & 2 and take Valacyclovir, (daily maintenance dose), to suppress it; I did not see this medication on the deferral list. May I still donate blood?

    • Carter BloodCare Reply January 9, 2021 at 12:16 am

Yes, you are eligible to donate!

  • Danielle W. Reply January 3, 2021 at 12:19 pm

I donated at the Keller site and received the food voucher. When I went to redeem it, it had already been used. This donation site routinely takes 2 hours to complete a donation when the center is empty as well as when I have an appointment. What a shame that it is the only site that is convenient for me. My experiences there has been bad.

    • Carter BloodCare Reply January 9, 2021 at 12:14 am

We’re grateful for your feedback. If you’d be so kind as to text 800-366-2834, we’ll see if we can get you another voucher!

  • Tara Reply January 5, 2021 at 9:43 am

I am a regular donor. My last donation was 11/19/20. That means my next donation can be January 14 or so, right? I’m really disappointed to miss this very narrow window, just because my last donation was too recent. For something on this scale, please consider opening the window to allow all your regular donors a chance.

    • Carter BloodCare Reply January 9, 2021 at 12:10 am

Thank you for your thoughts, Tara. We will keep in mind for future opportunities such as this.

  • Randel Calaway Reply January 5, 2021 at 10:35 am

I gave in November and wasn’t scheduled until Jan 16 by your staff because of the holidays and my work. I gave 7 times out of 12 months in 2020 but will miss out on the drawing. I could have pulled it up a week in Jan if I had known. I probably wouldn’t win but I am disappointed of the small window for giving.

    • Carter BloodCare Reply January 9, 2021 at 12:09 am

First, we’re grateful for your many donations. And thank you for the feedback. We will keep in mind for future opportunities such as this.

  • Cecil Smith Reply January 7, 2021 at 11:31 am

The giving away of the Chevrolet vehicle is a great incentive to get people to donate, but it leaves out your faithful donors that are currently ineligible to donate because of time limitations between donations.

    • Carter BloodCare Reply January 9, 2021 at 12:05 am

Thank you for the feedback, Cecil. We will keep in mind for future opportunities such as this.
