Carter BloodCare announces winner of $2,500 in gas cards

Nearly 28,000 donors step up to Pump Up the Blood Supply during typically slow season

BEDFORD, TEXAS – July 13, 2022 – Kimberly Spence of Coppell is the winner of $2,500 in gas cards, courtesy of Carter BloodCare.

To help drive blood donations, all Carter BloodCare donors who gave on any day between May 30, 2022 and June 30, 2022 were entered in the Pump Up the Blood Supply drawing to win $2,500 in Visa gas cards. Spence’s name was drawn from 27,855 donors.

Blood donations typically drop each summer as students go on break and families take vacations. In fact, high school blood drives account for up to 25% of the community blood supply.

By donating blood, plasma or platelets, donors help those in urgent need of transfusions, including accident and trauma patients, those undergoing cancer treatments, mothers experiencing blood loss during labor, older adults with health issues, children with anemia, and many other neighbors in need.

Residents are asked to consistently donate at a Carter BloodCare donor center or blood drive across North, Central and East Texas. Visit CarterBloodCare.org and click the Donate Now tab, or call 800-366-2834.
