Texas Rangers team up with Carter BloodCare for July 2 blood drive
Rangers drive home the need for blood at Globe Life Field event
ARLINGTON, TEXAS (June 21, 2022) – The Texas Rangers are going to bat for Texans in need of lifesaving transfusions.
The Rangers will host a Carter BloodCare blood drive from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 2, at Globe Life Field in Arlington. Donors can park in Lot A, enter through the West VIP entrance, and go to the event in The High Ball Lounge and 4.21 Food Hall, located on the upper concourse behind first base.
As a special incentive, donors can get their mitts on vouchers for two upper-level seats at the ballpark during the Rangers’ 2022 season; one voucher per donor, while supplies last.
In addition, each donor will receive a Carter BloodCare beach towel and car windshield sunshade, plus a $25 Visa gas card, while supplies last.
Need for blood is urgent in summer
The July 2 event comes at a crucial time for the local blood supply. Blood donations typically drop in the summer as students go on break – high school blood drives account for up to 25% of the community blood supply – and families focus on vacations. By donating blood, donors help people in urgent need of transfusions, including trauma patients, those undergoing cancer treatments, and many others.
“We are grateful to partner with Carter BloodCare on this important community initiative and we encourage Rangers fans to do their part to support the DFW blood supply,” said Jim Cochrane, SVP of Business Partnerships with the Texas Rangers.
Ballpark tours and Rangers alumni
Complimentary ballpark tours will be given at the top of every hour July 2. Tours begin at 10 a.m. The last tour will start at 4 p.m.
Also, there will be special appearances by two famed Rangers alumni. Outfielder Kevin Mench will be on-hand from 10 to 11 a.m. Outfielder Cecil Espy will be at the drive from 3 to 4 p.m.
