The 2026 Carter BloodCare MASH Bash blood drive is a Carthage vs. Marshall challenge to replenish the community blood supply in support of East Texas patients.

WHY
The blood supply takes a steep dive each summer, when student donors are on break and adult donors are away on vacation. Carter BloodCare blood donors help children fighting cancer, new moms, heart surgery patients, older adults with age-related health issues, burn patients and many others.
Carter BloodCare health officials say there is an urgent need for type O donors. Universal type O negative can support any patient and is the only blood type used to treat premature and unborn babies. The most common blood type – O positive – is used in emergency situations such as traumatic bleeding.
WHO CAN DONATE
Healthy individuals who weigh at least 110 pounds and feel well on the day of donation are eligible to donate starting at age 16 with parental consent; those 17 and older can donate on their own.
