BEDFORD, TEXAS – June 2, 2022 – Carter BloodCare urges Texans to “Pump Up the Blood Supply” to help patients in need this summer and, in return, get some relief at the gas pump.

Donors who present to give whole blood, double red cells, platelets or plasma on Mondays or Tuesdays through June 30, 2022 will each receive a $25 Visa gas card.

In addition, all Carter BloodCare donors who give on any day May 30 – June 30 are automatically entered in a grand prize drawing to win $2,500 in Visa gas cards.    

Donate at any Carter BloodCare donor center or mobile blood drive across North, Central and East Texas.

Blood donations typically drop in the summer as students go on break – high school blood drives account for up to 25% of the community blood supply – and families focus on vacations. By donating blood, plasma or platelets, donors help people in urgent need of transfusions, including accident and severe trauma patients, those undergoing cancer treatments, mothers experiencing difficult childbirths, older adults with health issues, children with anemia, and many others.
