July 12-13 MASH Bash blood drive helps East Texans in urgent need of transfusions

Carthage and Marshall team up to support local hospital patients

Carthage and Marshall, Texas (July 6, 2023) – Carthage and Marshall host the annual MASH Bash blood drive July 12 – 13 with Carter BloodCare. The friendly competition between cities takes on a united mission: to restock East Texas’ much-needed blood supply.

While emergencies raise awareness of the need, blood is required every day for urgent medical procedures.

Summer is an especially challenging time for the Texas blood supply. High school blood drives account for 25% of the community supply; when student donors go on break, blood donations drop.

Donating blood is an easy, positive way to support neighbors in need. These include children fighting cancer, older adults with age-related health issues, mothers going through difficult childbirths, people hurt in serious car accidents and many others who depend on blood being there when it’s needed.

For times, locations and to secure a spot, visit CarterBloodCare.org or call 800-366-2834.

As thanks for giving, donors will receive the commemorative 2023 MASH Bash T-shirt, along with other thank-you incentives from Carter BloodCare and area organizations, while supplies last.
