Donating blood in Keller

Throughout 2024, we’re featuring each of our donor centers and what makes them unique. In July, we’re featuring our Keller Donor Center.

Located in Keller Town Center at Keller Parkway and Rufe Snow Drive, the Keller Donor Center is right in the heart of Keller. The center serves more than 45,000 residents of Keller, but the center is also the closest Carter BloodCare location to Grapevine-Colleyville, with a population of more than 83,000, and Southlake, with a population of 31,000.

Because of its location and because Alliance and HEB are the nearest Carter BloodCare locations, the Keller Donor Center hosts a large and diverse donor base as the primary donor center for a large portion of northwest Tarrant County. Site Supervisor Towonna Handsborough says the center has several consistent donors who come from all walks of life.

For example, Kathryn B. is a photographer and Alan V. is a veteran. Handsborough mentioned William L. as another longtime donor that the staff always enjoys visiting with. The staff at Keller effectively forms relationships with donors, which fosters an environment that keeps donors coming back to donate.

The welcoming environment is key for a donor center that serves a large portion of northeast Tarrant County. The staff plays a big role in making Keller the successful donor center that is.
