Find out when and where your blood is making a difference

Blood donors are heroes for those in need and now donors will have the opportunity to know when their blood is on its way to save a life.

Carter BloodCare has started a new initiative where donors will receive a text when their donation is sent to be transfused to a patient in need, including the city of where the donation is headed to. Each blood donation can save up to three lives. This new program is meant to help inspire donors and help close the loop on the donation process.

How do I receive the text message?

To be included in this program, you need to be opted in to receive text messages from Carter BloodCare. To opt-in, text COUNTMEIN to 999-777 and you will be opted in to receive text messages from Carter BloodCare, including when your blood donation has been distributed to be transfused to a patient in need. Message and data rates may apply.

I donated recently, why didn’t I receive a text?

Each blood product has a different shelf life; for example, red cells can be stored for up to 42 days. Because of this, you may not receive a text right away.

To avoid overcommunicating, you will receive only one text within a 30-day timeframe – even if you make multiple donations. In addition, there are sometimes technical or handling issues that are occasionally unavoidable.
