World Blood Donor Day on June 14 recognizes vital community role of donors

Carter BloodCare thanks donors for stepping up to support neighbors in need

BEDFORD, Texas (June 10, 2025) – World Blood Donor Day on Saturday, June 14, is a global tribute to the millions of voluntary, lifesaving blood donors.

Texas-based Carter BloodCare joins blood centers worldwide in observing this annual event to thank volunteer donors and raise awareness of the importance of consistent donations.

The World Blood Donor Day campaign highlights the positive effect of blood donors on the health and well-being of their community; raises awareness of the ongoing need for blood, platelet and plasma donations; and encourages new and existing donors to consistently lend an arm to maintain a safe, stable blood supply.

Every blood donation is a gift of hope. It can mean the difference between life and death for patients in critical need of transfusions.

Blood transfusions are necessary for safely treating children and adults who are fighting cancer, patients with severe trauma, mothers undergoing difficult childbirths, sickle cell patients, organ transplant recipients, older adults with age-related health issues, people hurt in serious traffic accidents, and many others.

As special thanks, Carter BloodCare is currently offering a variety of donor appreciation gifts, while supplies last.

These include e-gift cards, beach towels, a chance to win Texas Rangers tickets, and more. Details are provided on Carter BloodCare’s Promotions page.

Appointments at a neighborhood Carter BloodCare donation location can be easily scheduled online at CarterBloodCare.org or by calling 800-366-2834.
