Make a Valentine’s date to donate with Carter BloodCare
Texans who donate together save lives together during urgent community need
Follow your heart to Carter BloodCare to help patients in need.
Ahead of Valentine’s Day, the nonprofit blood center is encouraging Texans to donate together to save lives together. A single donation can save up to three lives; couples who donate blood can save six lives.
The need is immediate this holiday, as the blood supply remains low following the double impact of winter storms and seasonal illnesses.
Carter BloodCare directors note all blood types are in high demand, especially O negative. As the universal blood type, O negative can help any patient, regardless of individual blood type, and is the only blood type used to treat premature and unborn babies.
Blood is required locally every day to help mothers having difficult deliveries, people injured in car wrecks, children fighting cancer, organ transplant recipients, open-heart surgery patients, and many others.
Carter BloodCare offers various thank-you rewards to donors, such as limited-edition sweatshirts and e-gift cards. Current donor rewards can be found on the Promotions page at CarterBloodCare.org.
Whether individually or together, donating blood is a compassionate act that delivers positive, life-changing effects for generations.
