Texas donors invited to take part in global blood drive Aug. 27

Global Blood Heroes event aims to break records by collecting 50,000 units in one day

Bedford, Texas (Aug. 8, 2022) – Carter BloodCare invites Texans to join a challenge to break records and save lives. The Global Blood Heroes event on Saturday, Aug. 27, aims to collect more than 50,000 units of lifesaving blood around the world in one day.

To participate in this record-breaking project, donors across North, Central and East Texas on Aug. 27 can use the code SPON109319 during registration at any Carter BloodCare donor center or mobile blood drive.

Donating blood is more than a way to break records; it’s a positive way to support neighbors in need of transfusions at all hours of every day. They include older adults with health issues, mothers experiencing difficulties during childbirth, accident and emergency patients, children with anemia, and many others who depend on an available community blood supply.

Each Carter BloodCare donor will receive a free Give for Texans beach towel and a card for a free appetizer with the purchase of an entrée at Cotton Patch Cafe. Donors also will be entered in the Payday Giveaway, with four Carter BloodCare donors drawn at random daily in August to each win a $500 pre-paid e-gift card.
