Carter BloodCare announces one-day closures due to winter weather conditions

Safety cited in decision for Thursday’s closings

BEDFORD, Texas (Feb. 23, 2022) – Carter BloodCare is actively monitoring the current winter weather event. Donor center and blood drive operations in the North Texas area will be closed by 2 p.m. today, Feb. 23, 2022, and have been canceled for Thursday, Feb. 24. The closures affect the local blood supply and the patients requiring blood transfusion. We encourage the community to donate when the weather conditions become safe for travel in your local area. Carter BloodCare is rescheduling donation appointments previously made for Wednesday afternoon or any time on Thursday, at its North Texas locations.

The community blood program continues to monitor the weather conditions and will update operations as appropriate.

Carter BloodCare has created a webpage where blood donors and others can receive up-to-date information about operations’ closures or delays during the winter storm. Visit CarterBloodCare.org/weather/. Donors may continue to text 800-366-2834 for scheduling appointments when operations are closed.
