
Dr. Celina Montemayor
Dr. Celina Montemayor joined Carter BloodCare as CMO in 2026 after serving as the Medical and Scientific Lead of Red Cell Genomics at Canadian Blood Services, where she previously held the title of Medical Officer.
Dr. Montemayor received her medical degree from Monterrey Tec Medical School and her Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Baylor College of Medicine. She did her fellowship training in Transfusion Medicine/Blood Banking at the National Institutes of Health.
Prior to serving in multiple roles at Canadian Blood Services, Dr. Montemayor served as a Staff Clinician in the Department of Transfusion Medicine at the National Institutes of Health.
Additionally, Dr. Montemayor is an expert in molecular methods and genomics. She pioneered the first open-source technology capable of translating Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data into precise and comprehensive blood type reports.
