B.J. Smith

B.J. Smith’s spirit of serving others compelled him to join the Army National Guard during his sophomore year at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. During his senior year, he began his lifelong blood banking career as a blood delivery driver with the American Red Cross.

Smith assumed multiple roles at the blood center and was quickly promoted to hospital services manager in Tulsa, Okla. Soon after, he establish a new American Red Cross blood center in Dallas.

After completing his Master of Business Administration and fulfilling his service with the army, Smith joined Carter BloodCare as the director of business development. He later received his first promotion, to vice president of regional operations and business development. Most recently, he was named vice president of operations and information services, with executive oversight for finance and contracts, information technology and services, collection services, and materials management.

Smith resides with his wife and family in Tarrant County.
