Carter BloodCare launches daily drawing for $100 e-gift card Jan. 18 – 25
Blood donors can be Winter Weather Heroes to local patients in need of transfusions
DALLAS-FORT WORTH – Jan. 16, 2024 – Carter BloodCare is launching a drawing for a $100 daily e-gift card reward for lifesaving heroes.
In the Texas-based blood center’s Winter Weather Heroes campaign, those who donate with Carter BloodCare Jan. 18 – 25 will be entered in a daily drawing for a $100 e-gift card.
The rewarding initiative comes as the blood supply hits a seasonal slump. Inclement weather, such as the arctic blast earlier this week, has led to hundreds of units not getting collected, which impacts thousands of patients.
“Our blood donors are local heroes,” said Andrea Sign, Carter BloodCare’s director of marketing, communications and donor relations. “Someone in our area needs a blood donor hero every day, helping people injured in serious car accidents, kids fighting childhood cancer, organ transplant patients and so many others.”
Carter BloodCare provides blood resources to more than 200 hospitals in 57 Texas counties. All blood types are needed, especially O positive, O negative – the universal blood type – and platelets, used to control bleeding.
Also, through Feb. 29, each Carter BloodCare donor receives a quarter-zip pullover, while supplies last.
