*E-gift cards are awarded as points to redeem in the Dedicated Donor Rewards store. Points are automatically added to your donor account. It may take up to 3 days after a donation for points to register. A successful donation is required to earn points. Eligibility is determined at the time of donation.
For blood types: A, B, AB, and O+, here’s how it works:

Your number of donations restarts at the beginning of each year.
Each O negative donation has an infinite impact. O negative donors are exceptional because O negative is the universal type; it can be transfused to any patient and is frequently used in emergency situations. This means O negative blood is always in high demand. The O Negative Effect program is back for 2026: O negative donors will receive an e-gift card for each donation.*
To help meet the local demand for platelets, donors will now earn e-gift cards based on the number of units collected. This positive change means your commitment — and the difference you make for patients who depend on platelet transfusions — will be recognized more fully with every donation.*
Plasma donors will now earn an e-gift card with each donation. Plasma is essential for treating a wide range of serious medical conditions, and this enhancement recognizes the critical role your donations play in supporting our community.*

What is the Dedicated Donor Rewards program?
Dedicated Donor Rewards is our way to show our appreciation for your impact in the community and to celebrate your consistent donations. There are different rewards for each donation, depending on your blood type and donation type, as shown in the tables above. Most donations are rewarded with an e-gift card.
How do I sign up for the program?
You are automatically enrolled in the program after your first donation! An account on Carterbloodcare.org or the Carter BloodCare App is required to view and redeem your points for rewards. Login or create your account 48 to 72 hours after your donation to see your points and available rewards. Be sure to confirm or update your primary email address to ensure you will receive your reward and all related communication.
How do I access the online store?
Log in here and then click Online Store.
How do I create an account if I don’t have my donor ID or unit number?
If you need assistance logging in or creating an account, please call 817-412-5370.
After I donate, when will my points appear?
It may take 48-72 hours for points to show up online. If you do not see your points listed five days after your donation, please call us at 817-412-5830.
Do my points expire?
Points from the previous calendar year expire every year on January 31. Once points expire, they cannot be reinstated or reissued, and any previously accumulated points shall become null and void, with no entitlement to use or recover them.
Will I earn points if my donation attempt is unsuccessful?
Donors will earn points annually based on the number of successful donations made within that year. A successful donation is defined as starting the donation process that results in a needle being inserted into the donor’s arm.
Can I track my past donations and orders?
To view the “Points Earning History” section of your Dedicated Donor Rewards, log in on your desktop browser or mobile app (not available via mobile browsers). It will show the activity of when you’ve earned and redeemed points after each donation.
What is a Tango Reward Link e-gift card and what does it offer?
Carter BloodCare now offers more than 200 vendors in our Dedicated Donor Rewards store via the Tango Reward Link system. Click here to view available e-gift card vendors.
How will I receive my e-gift card(s)?
An email is required for e-gift card redemption.
Once an order has been submitted, you will receive your e-gift card within 72 hours. Your e-gift card will be sent to the primary email listed on your donor profile. This email will come from a third-party vendor, so please check your spam/junk folder. If you have not received your order after 72 hours, please call us at 817-412-5370.
How do I use or redeem my e-gift card?
For most e-gift cards in the Dedicated Donor Rewards store, you will be sent an email with a link and a security code that will be used to download the e-gift card of your choosing. Click the link in the email and then enter the provided security code when prompted. Then, you’ll be able to download your e-gift card.

Can I donate my points back?
Yes! Donating your points back to Carter BloodCare is a great way to help further our mission.
Can I transfer my points to someone else?
Points cannot be transferred or combined with a family member, friend, or another blood donor.
How can I contact customer service if I have an issue with an order?
You can contact our internal customer service team at 817-412-5370 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Voicemail is available at all times and a customer service specialist will respond to your request as soon as possible.
Please note that physical store items may take 4-6 weeks to be delivered. E-gift cards are typically sent within 24 hours of the order to the email listed on your donor account, but they may take up to 72 hours during high volume times.
How do I update the primary email listed on my donor profile?
Log in to your account, click “My Account” > “Edit” > “Change Communication Preferences” or you can call 817-412-5830 for help.
Where can I get a gallon milestone pin?
It takes eight whole blood donations to reach one gallon. To celebrate these milestones, we offer enamel pins in the shape of Texas proudly showing your gallon milestone number. Your neighborhood donor center carries pins 1-20, and subsequent increments of 5 (25, 30, 35, etc) up to 100. Please stop by to pick up your milestone pin!
If you have a request for specific gallon number not carried at a center, please submit a request through the Contact Us page and select Dedicated Donor Rewards from the drop down. Availability may be limited.
I thought I was getting an e-gift card. Why did I get points?
All electronic gift cards (e-gift cards) are awarded as points. Points can be redeemed for physical items or e-gift cards. You choose which e-gift card (e.g., Starbucks, Amazon, Lowe’s) you’d like.
What if I don’t want an e-gift card?
E-gift cards are awarded as points. However, points can be redeemed for an e-gift card or any physical item in our store. Some of these items include t-shirts, cups, exclusive promotional items and more.
What is an e-gift card?
It is an electronic gift card. Once you redeem points for an e-gift card, it will be sent to your primary email on file within 72 hours. This email will include any necessary passwords or PINs to use your e-gift card. You must have a valid email address on your donor account to receive your e-gift card redemption email. Once you redeem points for an e-gift card, you will not be able to exchange it for a different card or return it for points.
Are there terms and conditions for the use of e-gift cards?
Once you redeem points for an e-gift card, it falls under the merchant’s responsibility. All e-gift cards are subject to individual merchant terms and conditions, and all trademarks are the property of their respective owners. Merchants and offers are subject to change. Carter BloodCare is not responsible for lost, damaged, corrupt or stolen e-gift cards and may replace any such cards at its sole discretion. E-gift cards are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash. Any questions or problems in connection with redeeming e-gift cards must be directed to the merchant.
Do Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) and Hereditary Hemochromatosis (HH) donors earn points?
TRT donors and HH donors will receive the monthly donor appreciation gift for each donation, plus 300 points (enough for a $5 e-gift card) for each donation after the first donation in a given year. These donors are not eligible for any additional promotions while enrolled in their respective programs.

Can I receive a physical gift card?
Carter BloodCare only offers e-gift cards that are awarded electronically through Tango. However, physical gift cards can be made available for specific merchants and Tango can help facilitate this process. Tango can be reached at 1-877-558-2646.
Why am I not receiving my e-gift card order confirmation?
The email will come from a third-party vendor, Tango, not Carter BloodCare. Check to ensure Noreply@tangocard.com is not blocked or marked as spam. In addition, make sure your email is updated.
I saw an e-gift card option previously that is no longer in the store. Where did it go?
During periods of high redemption activity, e-gift cards may temporarily become unavailable; however, our team works diligently to ensure they are restocked as quickly as possible.
