The O Negative Effect 2025

O negative donors make an exceptional difference.

Each donation has an infinite impact. Your donation can change the lives of a patient and their loved ones and can inspire others to donate and make a difference in the same way.

O negative donors are exceptional because O negative is the universal type; it can be transfused to any patient and is frequently used in emergency situations. This means O negative blood is always in high demand.

We’re introducing The O Negative Effect program for 2025: O negative donors will receive a $50 e-gift card for each whole blood donation in 2025.*

*Awarded as 3,000 bonus Dedicated Donor Rewards points. Points are automatically added to your account. Double red cell donations will be awarded double the points: 6,000. It may take up to 3 days after a donation for points to register. A qualifying donation results in the collection of red cells; appointments for whole blood, double red cells or an attempt to donate that does not result in red cells collected will not be awarded bonus points. Deferrals do not count as a donation.

Bonus points are in addition to those earned by donating and keeping an appointment. Email is required for e-gift redemption. Points can be used toward e-gift cards or any other items available in the donor store. Dedicated Donor Rewards points earned in 2025 will expire on February 28, 2026.

If your appointment is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances outside of Carter BloodCare’s control, points will not be awarded.
