Donating Blood in Burleson

To serve the southwestern part of DFW with a donor center, we opened the Burleson Donor Center in 2025. Now, to celebrate its first year, we’re featuring the Burleson Donor Center and what makes it unique.

As the newest donor center, Burleson serves the southernmost part of Tarrant County, and it’s the nearest donor center for all of Johnson County. In just one year, the center has established a solid donor base that includes several regular donors: Cheryl J., Samuel S., Randall B., and Phillip J.

The culture and friendliness of the staff play a big part in the center’s ability to establish its donor base, according to Site Supervisor Andyssey Pollard.

“We are a center that offers a family-oriented, fun, friendly and safe environment for everyone who wants to help the community,” Pollard said. “We pride ourselves on making the donation experience memorable and forming connections with our donors.”

In that sense, the donor center reflects the community it serves. With its relationships and family-oriented approach, the Burleson Donor Center makes donors feel at home. That includes one donor who donates as soon as he’s eligible – every 56 days – without fail, for a reason.

Pollard says this donor has a grandson who lives in another state, has several health issues and routinely needs blood. This donor makes sure to donate every 56 days, providing local patients like his grandson with the care they need. Each time he donates, he updates the staff on his grandson’s progress.

The story of this particular donor is a direct reflection of the mission of the staff at the center: to make donors feel safe and at home and to play their part in the community they serve. For Pollard and the staff, being part of the community is part of the job.
