O’Neal family builds lifesaving legacy
The O’Neal family is giving back to the community in a positive, uplifting way, in honor of their patriarch, Don O’Neal.
Since 2025, the O’Neals have teamed with Carter BloodCare to host a blood drive in Colleyville, Texas.

The first blood drive collected 109 units of lifesaving blood, enough to support 327 local patients in need of transfusions.
For the April 2026 blood drive, the O’Neals boosted the goal to 125 collected units. Held on-site at CrossCreek Church in Colleyville, the second annual event exceeded expectations, collecting 130 units of whole blood to benefit 390 patients. Of the attendees, 44 were first-time donors, an impressive and much appreciated turnout.
Community blood drives are vital because the need for blood is nonstop. Residents who lend an arm to donate blood help children and adults fighting cancer, expectant mothers, people injured in serious car accidents, older adults with age-related health issues, organ transplant recipients, sickle cell patients, those hurt in mass casualty incidents, open heart surgery patients, and many other neighbors in need.

This initiative is especially meaningful because it stems from the family’s personal experience. Don O’Neal battled cancer and required frequent transfusions as part of his rigorous treatment regimen. These transfusions helped sustain Don and allowed him to spend a deeply significant final Christmas with his family.
Since Don’s passing in December 2024, the family has been incredibly passionate about giving back, with the support of church members and the Colleyville community.

The annual blood drive is organized by the family-owned company, 323 Capital, and the entire family gets involved at every level.

From welcoming donors, creating custom T-shirts and manning the hamburger grill for hungry donors, to donating blood themselves, the O’Neals go above and beyond to make the event special and memorable for all. They create a welcoming sense of community and hope, building a powerful, impactful legacy in honor of Don O’Neal.
