The holidays are a time for family, friends and communities to gather together. We love this time of year because it’s all about giving! There are so many ways to support your community this season.
1) Tell friends about us
During the holidays, high school and college students are out on break, which means that our need for donations goes up. Each person who gives blood plays a major role in supporting our community and helps keep blood on the shelves for patients in need.
2) Donate your old jackets
If you have extra winter coats, jackets and sweaters to spare, now is the time to put them to good use! Give your winter clothes to a local charity, or participate in clothing drives at local schools and stores.
3) Give a grandparent a hand
The holiday break from school and work gives us a chance to slow down and be together. Give your grandparents some special attention this year by spending a day with them. Help out around the house, take them somewhere special, or take part in their favorite activity.
4) Bring cookies to share
There’s nothing quite as festive as homemade holiday cookies. Bake up some classic sugar cookies, chocolate chips or snickerdoodles for a treat that’s sure to please everyone at school or the office!
5) Shop local for gifts
You can support businesses in your community by doing your holiday shopping at local stores and boutiques. You never know what unique gift you’ll find in your hometown that you can’t find anywhere else!
Of all the gifts you receive this year, we hope giving to the community brings you the most joy!
