We want to take the time to thank our wonderful volunteers at Carter BloodCare. Our volunteers are our shining stars, and are truly lifesavers. Their selfless acts of service never go unnoticed and the community flourishes from their diligent efforts. This week we are highlighting Lucy Kim, a volunteer of three years at Carter BloodCare.
Lucy is a part of the donor council for our blood center in Keller, Texas where she trains new volunteers and links them with community events to attend. Lucy promotes blood donation in her community by attending events and hosting blood drives. Lucy even occasionally volunteers her time in the marketing and public relations department at our corporate offices. Lucy is always willing to jump in and help when needed, whether it be assisting with inventory in the warehouse or wearing the blood drop costume to dance in parades!
Kristi Nealy, Carter BloodCare marketing coordinator said, “Lucy Kim has always been very dependable, accurate and blends in well with our team. She has a big heart and always puts 110 percent into her projects. She has literally become a part of our family and is a great blessing to our organization.”
Lucy is married with two sons, three stepdaughters and four grandchildren. Besides spending time with her family and volunteering, Lucy enjoys traveling, crafts, reading and watching movies.
Lucy Kim said, “Volunteering is a part of what makes me who I am and makes my life so much richer. I can’t imagine not doing it. I am passionate about blood donation because there is no question about whether you have made a difference with what you have done. It always makes a difference! How can that not make you smile and feel good?”
