Here at Carter BloodCare, we LOVE Halloween! Every year, our drive coordinators host Halloween-themed drives that inspire people to get in the spirit to give. Check out our guide below to hosting your own blood drive!
1. Choose a Theme
A blood drive featuring phlebotomists dressed up like vampires is just one way to give your community a Halloween to remember! There are lots of creative ways to make the experience frightfully festive…like with a team of mad scientists or zombies inside the donor center!
2. Dress Up
Once you’ve chosen a theme, go all out! Dress up and invite your donors to arrive in costume as well. You could even give away prizes for the best costume. Remember to take photos and give us a scare @CarterBloodCare with #GiveForLife!
3. Decorate Your Space
No Halloween party is complete without the perfect frills and thrills. Stretch a few spider webs over the doorway and tables, or hang pumpkin lights inside your bus or donor center.
4. Hand Out Candy
Of course, it wouldn’t be Halloween without a little trick-or-treating. Plus, donating blood isn’t scary when there’s candy involved! Chocolate eyeballs, anyone?
5. Invite Your Community
More donors means more blood for you – that is, for saving lives, of course! Invite guests from your neighborhood, office, school and community to have fun on Halloween and #GiveForLife.
As you can see, we think Halloween blood drives are a lot of fun. They’re also a great way to help keep our community’s blood supply stable before the busy holiday season hits. Book yours today by emailing BookABloodDrive@CarterBloodCare.org. Don’t forget to share your Halloween pictures with us @CarterBloodCare with #GiveForLife!
