We have something to confess: we absolutely LOVE Halloween. Not only do we get to dress up and eat way too much candy, but Halloween also brings out more donors. We don’t care if we have Dracula or a werewolf to thank, we love that Halloween inspires people to give blood and host drives.
We have seen a lot of creative Halloween drives over the years; what’s more fun than having an actual vampire collect (draw?) your blood? From vampire phlebotomists, to haunted buses, we love to see how creative our drive coordinators get with their blood drives during October.
Decorating a bus or donation space is easy. For bus drives, we recommend decorating the canteen area. This way, we can ensure the inside is safe and comfortable for donors. Adding fun tablecloths, “cobwebs,” and other decorations inside your building is definitely encouraged, as long as our phlebotomists have enough space to set up the prescreening and donation areas.
This year, we want EVERYONE to see the fun drives that you are hosting. If you are hosting a drive this October, share your pictures with us on Instagram and Twitter by tagging @carterbloodcare and using the hashtag #GiveForLife. Also, tag us in your pictures, videos and posts on Facebook, so we can share all of our favorites!
