As a gray sky succumbed to the black of night, they came. In groups and in pairs. Step by step, closer and closer — more than 400 strong — they came because of the blood. They also came for a great chicken dinner and a chance to bust a few moves on the dance floor. But mostly these high school zombies came to celebrate the lives they saved by hard work and enthusiasm during the school year.
The students and their faculty sponsors were responsible for a year’s worth of high school blood drives that drew blood from a brand new generation of donors. Who wouldn’t celebrate? An event in Dallas and an event in Fort Worth featured music (including a crowd-pleasing Thriller), great food, awards, photos, prize drawings and a heart-stopping trip through a haunted house.
A million thanks to the zombies and other creatures of the night for the fun you brought to these two events. The work you do in your schools makes life possible. And that’s so great – it’s scary. Take a look! http://bit.ly/tH5YOw
