Thank you to all the generous donors who gave blood over the last 3 weeks while we have been in a critical state. We are on our way to getting the community blood supply back up to preferred levels, and we couldn’t have done it without you! If you didn’t get a chance to donate over the weekend, we still need a boost! O-, A-, and B- supplies are low and we need your help to bring those up. Though blood donations are the most popular method, there are many ways to help support the community blood supply.
Together we can SAVE LIVES! Here’s how:
- Roll up your sleeves and GIVE! We need 1,100 donors per day to meet our community need. If you weren’t able to make it to one of our donor center or mobile drive locations over the weekend, CLICK HERE to find a location nearest to you to give blood.
- Be a part of something great! Organize a blood drive. Every day, close to 800 patients in North, Central and East Texas require timely blood transfusions. The majority of this blood comes from blood drives organized by groups like yours. When you organize a blood drive, you give patients in our community a second chance at life or better health. For more information, contact us at 817-412-5384 or email us BookABloodDrive@CarterBloodCare.org today and start planning the event that’s good for you and good for patients in your community!
- Give Blood. Often. If you haven’t already, mark your calendar for your next blood donation. Wait 56 days between whole blood donations, 14 days between platelet donations, and 112 days between automated double red cell donations to ensure eligibility to GIVE.
Did you know? Double red donations allow for you to give twice the amount of red cells without the collection of platelets and plasma.
Make your donation go further and give double reds!
- Like. Share. Spread the Word! Carter BloodCare provides more than 400,000 blood products to North Central and East Texas each year, and it’s all thanks to generous donors like you!
